Annie Korzen - Actress and playwright Annie Korzen had
the recurring role of Doris Klompus on Seinfeld, as well as numerous television
appearances on shows like Coach, Mad About You and L.A. Law. Annie has also been
seen in various feature films, such as Tootsie and Stardust Memories. Ms.
Annie Korzen has also worked Off-Broadway at La Mama, Jewish Repertory Theatre,
Judson Poets Theatre, and many others.
In addition to theatre pieces, Annie Korzen has written
several screenplays in the romantic comedy genre, including Nobody's Perfect,
starring Chad Lowe and Gail O'Grady. Annie Korzen's solo show, Yenta Unplugged
unplugs the myths and stereotypes that plague Jewish women. It played to rave
reviews and sold out houses in Martha's Vineyard, Los Angeles , Florida and New
York . The show was also invited to the UCLA-Armand Hammer Museum , as part of
the Too Jewish exhibition, and will be featured at a number of Arts Festivals in
the upcoming season.
Annie Korzen has written and lectured extensively trying to
correct the popular negative image of Jewish-American women. She was a
guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show, having suggested the topic: Ethnic Men Who
Reject Their Own Women. Annie Korzen was then asked by the Screen Actors Guild
to organize a committee to challenge the stereotyping of Jewish women in the
media. Annie Korzen is also busy on the lecture circuit with her speech "The
Good Yenta: Challenging the Stereotypes."
