Alan Thicke With a remarkable varied career in entertainment, Alan Thicke is best known as Jason Seaver on ABC's "Growing Pains," which propelled him into the international spotlight as one of television's most adoring father figures. A Golden Globe Nominee and frequent "Father of the Year" recipient, Thicke cherishes his family obligations both on and off the screen. The former host of "The Alan Thicke Show" and "Thicke of the Night," he is also active as a writer, producer, composer, master of ceremonies and charity spokesperson. Recently, Alan has revisited his writing craft to create sitcom pilot scripts for studios including Castle Rock and Warner Brothers as well as television movie, When Love Grows Old for the Family Channel, a feature film, The Noone Hour for Steve Tisch Productions, and the comedy Beauty Queens Must Die for Allegro Films. He wrote a nationally syndicated humor column for The Toronto Sun chain in Canada and the book How Men Have Babies-The Pregnant Father's Survival Guide released in 1999.
